how do i change my acceptance of 'corrupted' files? forgive this possibly ignorant question, but i've searched all the helpsites & can't find an answer.. i'm using a recent version of free limewire, i have mac os x, & am in general having good luck with it all. i occasionally get the 'limewire has detected a corruption in this file. do you wish to continue?' message. i always select no. so the last time i got the message, i clicked 'answer this way everytime,' intending to click no after that (the default answer is yes). and it disappeared, so now i am continuing to d/l all these corrupt files - though i don't want them. there must be a preferences bar somewhere where i can change this option -please please tell me where i can change it! thank you thank you thank you hana |
Go to Preferences, and there you can set all pop-up boxes to appear again. Of course you will have to check all the boxes you don't want to see all over again but, oh well huh? |
thanks for reply.. now you're really going to laugh.. next question.. specifically, which & where are 'preferences'? is it in my desktop's system preferences (& if so, under which category, i.e. personal, hardware, network, etc), or is it located somewhere on the gnutella/limewire software? i'm new to both macs & limewire, so thanks in advance for your patience & help. hana |
Haha. Nope. It's not that funny. Actually I had the very same question when I first bought my Mac. Being used to the PCs my friends had, I looked everywhere for Options to no avail, only to find by chance a little later that the "options"on a Mac are labeled (for most every application) as "Preferences". I just clicked the Limewire Tab at the very top of the screen (not page). You know, the word Limewire written in bold. Next, you haveta click Preferences (of course) and, in the preferences, click the little triangle to the left of View. This makes more options appear. You'll have to, of course, click Pop-ups and then check the little box and you're done! |
i accidentally posted a new thread (told you i was new).. but wanted to be sure you knew all was well - thanks so much for breaking it down for me. hana |
Don't mention it. Everyone is a newbie at some point (I still am one) so it always feels great when someone takes the time to thoroughly explain something you don't know about in a way you'll understand it, right? |
