Question Starting Downloads near end of file?

Is there anyway to start a download, say at 90%? I wanted to download a large file, but around the end the other user shutdown their computer. I am now downloading from another user, But I would like to start downloading their file at 90%, not from the beginning.

Please, is this possible!?!?!?!?!

Large file will take so long,, argh.

LimeySalior,

Unless you deleted the file you were downloading it will be in your Limewire incomplete folder.

At the top menu bar in Limewire select - LIBRARY, INCOMPLETE - highlight the file you partially downloaded and click "RESUME".

You might also refresh the search for the file by searching for it again. This will help Limewire find a route to the file.

Default I know how to resume downloads, but..

What i want to do, is download the very end of a large file. Numerous users have the file, however the one I was downloading from stop connecting. So, I wanted to download the end of a -different file- however it would contain the same contents- hypothetically.

LimeySalior,

If you restart the download it will find the rest of the file from anyone that has it. The original source for the incomplete file doesn't have to be available. It doesn't just try to find the original source it looks through the network for any place the file is available and continues the download from the point it was interupted.

Default hummm,,

So, if the file name is different does that matter, just curious?
Also there are some files that have chopped the orgininal in half, thus has 3 parts. Does this also get checked by limewire?

LimeySalior,

The filenames can differ. I can't answer your question about the files that are split.

Talking Thanks Norm

Well, I guess I will have to make some suggestions on the enhancement forum. I had a feeling I was going to find out what I wanted to do, I could not.
Oy! Well it would be nice if limewire could search- user guided matches for similarities.
I have no idea if this is possible, but if the file extension was the same (mp3 or avi or mpg) searching the source code for matches could complete some files thus making most downloads successful.
Again thanks for your help.
:P
