![]() Is it considered rude to disconnect while uploading files? I usually let the ones who are almost finished complete the transfer, but others I have to kill when I'm ready to log off. What do you do? |

![]() when you say log-off do you mean shut off your computer or log-off from the network... I personally hate it when people cut me off but I understand that most people need to every so often... I mean if I need to reboot my comp I really don't care who's d/l'ing what... my computer needs a reboot but by the same token as long as my comp is on then so is Gnutella... I don't ever leave the network unless someone is using my FTP and I need the U/L bandwidth... I think it all boils down to the old "do unto others... blah blah blah.." if you hate it when your d/l is clipped by others then don't do it yourself... if you don't mind it then... |

![]() In the future, LimeWire on Windows will automatically be reduced to the system tray when you quit, thereby allowing uploaders to continue uploading and allowing your own downloads to finish without LimeWire taking up screen real estate. This feature will not be available in LimeWire 1.4, but should be out by LimeWire 1.5. ------------------ Adam Fisk Lime Peer Technologies Developer |

![]() Will there also be an option to free all the memory Limewire locks up? I wouldn't need to reboot that often if I could still work with my comp. while using Limewire. But if my WinTV doesn't start anymore because Limewire locked 384MB of memory (but only uses around 10MB) I just have to kick it and reboot... |

![]() Does this happen only after running LimeWire for extended periods of time, or does it occur right away? It sounds like a memory leak that we are unaware of. We will be moving to using the 1.3 JVM from Sun in a future release (most likely in LimeWire 1.5) that includes a far superior garbage collector which may take care of the problem, but we have not addressed anything in this area for the pending release of LimeWire 1.4. Any more information that you could give us would be very helpful, however, as this is the first report we have heard regarding this particular problem. Thanks. ------------------ Adam Fisk Lime Peer Technologies Developer |
