Go to the Finder's Home directory (open a window and click the house -duh-) and go to the Library, then Preferences. Look for a folder entitled Limewire. If you find it, trash it then reinstall the English-only version.
Hope it helps.

I tried that but how do you select the english only version.....on the LW homepage i clicked the american flag (english) and then went to download it but it still did the same thing to me with the select language option....plus, how do i find out what version of mac os x i am running....i know its panther, but is there a version number for it?

Uh, yeah. I was wrong. Apparently the English-only version is only available for Windoze so no luck there.
To see what version of OSX you have, click the Apple icon at the very top left of your screen and select About This Mac. It gives you the version of your OSX as well as your processor and RAM specs (you can get many more if you click More Info of course...)
Run Software Update to check if you have the latest Javas and everything, then open a window in the Finder and go to applications. Click the Utilities Folder and go to Disk Utility. Repair the HD's permissions there and, well, try again with the installing (if it doesn't work once after this don't try again. Just post back)

it worked!!! thank you so much..... i did everything as directed and it worked perfectly...i think the problem was the java thingy because last time i tried updating it i had to force quit it because it froze, and it just so happens that that's when my LW started acting up as well.....thank you so much
