I have limewire (obviously) onmac os x.3 with a DSL connection that averages at about 120 KB/S. Music D/Ls usually amx out the line speed and D?L very fast, but I was downloading a video and even thouht there were 30+ people that had it and it was in the T1 speed section, they only D/L at 3 KB/S. WHY???

There could be a no. of reasons for a low dwnld speed. One of these is a sharing in-turn allocation b/w users, the source('s) may have set limitations upon their uploads, the seemingly best sources might be busy so you're sent to a slower one ('s) instead. Or just because you're dwnlding from a good source, don't think you're going to be the only one. You'll most likely be sharing their bandwith with others.

Default Average speed

What is the average download speed I should be getting with a cable modem? Ive seen my computer download at neer 1000KB/s from websites. On l/w, sometimes it'll be somewhere around 50-80, but usually between 3 and 30.

Any Ideas?

Not having cable I'm not the one to answer this, but I am aware that other local neighborhood users can add traffic & slow it down. Probably on certain days/times of day speed may fluctuate.

I think that when you download people usually get arround 1-5kb so if you get that your fine. and I think your speed should be around 100mbs/sec
