minimizing my imported cds I'm trying to upload my cd's to my computer but each song is 3+MB how do i import them as an mp3 format and around 5,000kb ish but still good quality! thanks mike |
Huh? 5000KB is 5MB, which would make the files larger than what you say you're getting. Is that what you want? Anyway, what computer do you have? A PC windowze? A Mac? |
The size of the files when converted to mp3 can vary in size depending upon your quality settings. When they are mono, stereo, joint stereo, & their bit rate: variable or 48 to 320 kbps, & their quality setting, Sample Rate & type of codec used to do these conversions. There's more than one type of mp3. And there's also a newer format known as m4a/m4p which enables them to be compressed even further in size than mp3 whilst maintaining reasonable sound quality (however this latter format is not recognised by all mp3 players & thus should be used with some caution.) |
I saw an ad for an mp4 player, destined to play those most probably. But I can't seem to find it anywhere now (not that I've bothered to look:p ) |
Were you refering to mac/pc, iTunes can play them (I think the only one for mac), & there's a no. for pc. I also have a list if you want them. See: http://www.m4a.com/ & converters for m4a. The answer to my Q on the forum was only for pc's. |
No, no. I was talking about portable walk mans. I know iTunes can play them, since mine was by default set to import all songs in this format... |
