downloading files I have a mac os9 cable connection and I can down load but alway get a document instead of mp3. I have I tunes and would like to down load to that application to play? Thanks |
From what I'm aware, iTunes cannot be set as the default player for LW in OS9 (only OSX.) So after dwnlding, within iTunes you'd need to add (CMD+O) the mp3s to iTunes Library from your dwnld folder. Make sure you know where your dwnld folder is & its path (keep an alias of it somewhere easy to find such as in Apple Menu Items & Favourites or your desktop. Are you sure these aren't mp3's & are just missing their icon. See this thread: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=27265 Are you sure you're choosing an audio search. If you do you can add More Search Options by ticking the box. This will help to eliminate unwanted results whilst giving you a better cahnce of finding specifically what you want. You can even add .mp3 to the end of the search title (particularly if you're doing a general search. If this doesn't solve your problem get back to us here in this thread. Good luck. |
dwnld mp3 get .doc Mac os9 cable I hve tried playin' file in qt nothing, I searched file as title.mp3 samethimg .doc always ****. File path (the default)systemfolder>Preferncefolder>sharedfolder. Now waddi I du? Uh and Thank you. |
Did you read the link to the thread I gave you? This does offer more than one solution to the the document & playing issue. QT has limitations! It can't play 'all' mp3 formats out there. There's different types of mp3 that require different codecs to play. You'll need an mp3 player/audio app that has a broad range of mp3 format codecs. Does the file actually have an extension .doc? That is strange! Did it have .doc in its name when you searched & started dwnlding it? What I might suggest is to use your filters. Go to LW's menu Tools-Options-Filters & keywords. Add the word .doc, press apply & ok. See if this makes a difference to your search results. Have you rebuilt your desktop lately? Next time you restart your computer, simultaneously hold down the Command+Option keys whilst it's restarting. It'll eventually ask you if you wish to rebuild your desktop file, press yes. The desktop file can become corrupted. Never harms to do this on say a monthly basis - (in fact it's good.) Try the above & see if these things help, if still have probs, get back. |
okay so I just downloaded another mp3 player, music match and problem solved. thanks though for your time and help peace, tonychicago |
