has anyone found the answer ??, to the unable to open any exe files on limewire, jack

Peerless was meaning you basicallly can't open them via LW. You need to find where your dwnlds folder is & open them from there or wherever you decide to relocate them from there. LW's launch function is purely an av function.

Just in case no one has mentioned it recently...

.EXEs do not open within Limewire's interface. This is a FEATURE not a BUG. The idea here is to protect Limewire users from mistakes like opening up a malicious file (virus) by accident, as well as protect LimeWire (the company) from responsibility for damages.

If someone goes to their download directory (on their comptuer's harddrive) and chooses to open a file... that is their business. And LimeWire is not responsible for any damage you may cause to your computer.

One suggestion is that you do not open files that you do not trust. You can often gain some level of trust by running anti-virus software on all downloads before opening them. Hope this helps someone.

He's right. Before opening any .exe file make sure you have a good UPDATED antivirus.
