I've had a few good weeks of downloading although yesterday my Limewire began to behave strangely. My Downloads which are reasonably fast are halting midway through, and sometimes resuming some time later, but not always.

The program did request to send a bug report but did not crash outright.

Can anyone help?

I'm asking this cause the network likes users who share.

Yes I do share, and indeed I like to share as generously as I have been given.

However, good news. After some tweeking, lots of experimenting and even a close contemplation of using another P2P share program I have discovered that my Firewall (McAfee) needed to have a lower security level. I have done this and everything seems back to normal. I guess it must have been one of those automatic updates that changed the ability to download everything.

I hope this helps other users in the future.

Yes I sent the error report. I'd also like to point out that during my review of other P2P software when Limewire was interrupted by my firewall, I noticed that on www.download.com Limewire is the most popular program of it's kind being downloaded.

I too think it's a very tidy piece of programming and so far I'm delighted with the results. Fast, stable, Easy to use; What more do we want!!
