![]() Hello. I have browesd around here and was unable to find an answer that sufficiently answered my question, so if this is a repeat: sorry, I couldn't find it! I have successfully downloaded from LimeWire. I was attempting to make 2 mov files available for upload so that my friend could get them. I made sure that the extensions on the files were listed under Preferences>Sharing>Shared File Extensions and the files are in my shared folder. They show up in my library and I have refreshed the library. My IP address does not begin with the numbers associated with a NAT. Some other files in my shared folder have been downloaded by other people but the 2 files that my friend was trying to download from me do not even show up in a search. Any ideas? |

![]() If other files have uploaded, all should be OK. The best check is to look at the Preferences>Bug Report>Sample Bug Report and scroll through that until you find the line that says "Accept Incoming this session=TRUE". If it says false, a firewall is active. You can allow the OS X firewall in System Preferences>Sharing>Firewall>New to add "Gnutella/LimeWire (6346)" To make sure your friend can find the files, send the friend a "magnet" link. To make a magnet, control-click (PC's right-click) on the file in the library and choose "magnet details" email the magnet link details to to your friend. ![]() Thank you for your suggestion. I followed your advice and did the bug report. it said false so i added the LimeWire. I then searched for them and still could not find them. I emailed the magnet link to myself and clicked on it and it didn't do anything. Hmm... |

![]() Hmm indeed. btw--I don't think you can download your own magnet. What happened when your friend tried it? Oh--if the bug report still say false, check the prefs for the advanced port (just to make sure it also uses 6346). You can set the OSX firewall and the LW prefs to open any port you want: they just have to match each other. Otherwise, there's still a firewall or something blocking incoming connections upstream of you, like a router, a network administrator (common in school networks), or (rarely) the ISP. |
