Why Upload? Does it make you download faster?

I'm just carious. I download a lot, but I hardly upload at all. Will uploading enable you to download faster?

Hmm, well there are many answers to that.

First, you should upload because it's P2P. That's Peer-to-Peer. You get and you give.
That's more of a moral reason why to upload.
The less apparent reason is that yes, failing to upload does make your downloads slower (mainly because your connection will be weaker)
So upload away: unless you have a 56k modem (or slower) upload and download bandwidths are separated, so uploading doesn't slow down your download speed.
