wmv files Hi, Some movie files have an extension wmv and are only about 100 KB in size. All they play are adverts. do i need to do anything else to them |
don't share them! Don't download them! btw--the spam .wmv's are 106.7 KB the same spam as a .jpg is 41.6 KB each will show about 30-50 sources, will mirror whatever search term you use, and be hosted by a T1 or better source. Gad--those spammers are irritating |
I really wish limewire would do something about those 106.7 wmv files... At least scroll something along the bottom letting people know to get them off of their computers, or give us a way of reporting the original source. I keep doing user searches to try to find one of the source computers, no luck yet though. Kinda wondering if anyone else tried this.... You can search host on the 106.7 KB people and maybe somebody will get lucky and figure something out about these idiots. |
It'd be nice for them just to filter out everything which is that filesize... of course, if you really DID have something that size it would not show it.. Hmmm |
There's no way of telling who (or where) is the "original" source. Most of those evil-doers have dynamic IP adresses (means that their IPs change every now and then)=even if you block one of them, they'll just get another adress in a few hours and pop! they're back in their (annoying) little game. As stief points out, the best way (right now) is tobe careful at the file sizes and see if this or that file size would be befiting (heh) of a decent-quality file |
The registered corporate offices for many of the Dialler-spreading idiots out there are not exactly difficult to find, hmmm? Doing something about them is another matter ! ;) |
