Searching and no results!

I had problems when I used the regular limewire platform so, I upgraded to pro! Same problem! When I search no matter how I do it, no results ever come up. When I first started using the system in April, I had no problems. Can anyone provide help?

It sounds as though LW is being blocked. Do the following test Click this link & tell us whether your result is True/False. Also what type of OS version, firewall, connection type & devices (modem & router models), LW version, Java version?

It says true. I am using xp home, limewire pro, I have the service pack 2 firewall and I think that's it, I don't know how to find about the java version, I am using a dial up connection with net zero high speed, and occasionally a wireless network. I haven't had problems in the past using this set up

I am using jave 2 v 1.4.2

If your result is true then that's good news. But it makes it a bit more confusing for me as to what the problem might be. Try deleting your LW preferences. But before you do, make a note of all your settings within LW b/c once you delete the prefs you'll need to reset them. You'll find them: OS X: /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire
Windows: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire
Linux: ~/.limewire

Now see if that makes a difference.

How do I know what to delete?

You delete the folder called .limewire Yo can even use your search engine to find it. By the way which OS version do yu have?

I am using windows xp home

For win XP your should be able to find the LW prefs folder '.limewire' here: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire Delete the entire folder. After deleting you will need to reset your options (Tools-Options, etc.) But things should improve now.

I deleted the files and went through to reset limewire......upon starting up I received a error message stating that limewire has "encountered an internal error" and then asks if I want to send immdeiately, discard etc.?
