Have you viewed your monitor window in LW? Are there people uplding from you?
I find your situation odd that there's nothing blocking your connection up/down but you're not getting good results if you followed the hints I gave. Then try to concentrate on particular dwnld files rather than a group of them. If you cannot connect to one with a lot of sources, delete it from the dwnld list & reselect it. Do that a no. of times & then search again for sources. Sometimes a particular slot on someone's machine becomes available (if it's really an extremely popular file.)
You're probably aware that not uncommonly when you do a search for an item, almost identical results will show up that are not grouped with others. Try choosing these alternative ones. Also make a note of the type of connections you generally choose. Try choosing some of the others instead for a change like dial-up modem or cable, etc.
You might just be very unlucky. Try again at a different time of the day or week or both. Sometimes I've had incompletes sitting there for many months before I had success with it. And people log on & off at various times & days, etc. If you're sharing it's much easier to connect to dwnlds. Some people filter out those that don't share more than 5, 50, 500 or more files, so you'd never be able to connect to them if you're only sharing 2 files for example. |
