Files won't Delete I have files in the Incomplete folder after I uninstalled Limewire. They WILL not delete, and i have tried uninstalling them in every way possible. They will not go away and the computer cannot find the path. Can anyone help? |
You will need to open your registry editor for this one. You can find it by going to start and then search for "regedit" It depends on what type of file you are trying to delete as to what you should do. Regedit works just like your folders do so go to: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.avi\shel lex\PropertyHandler This example is for avi files, if you were trying to delete mp3 files you would do the same thing but replace avi for mp3. There will likely be a long number, possible mixed in with some letters, just erase whatever you find where it says "value" Then close out of regedit and you should be able to delete these files no problem. |
I can't delet uncomplete files from my pc, I tried the instuctions above but, the are still clinging onto my pc. When I try to delete them a message comes up "Cannot delete T-1337~.MPG cannont find the specified file. Make sure you specify the correct path and file name" I have tried every thing to get rid of these offending files. Please help |
I am also having this problem. I cannot delete these files with the above instructions. Mind you, the files are MPEG files and the regeditor doesn't give a property handler folder, just "ContextMenuHandler", then "WMPBurnAudioCD". Is there anything else I can do? Thanks |

I am having this same problem with a jpg file that won't delete. I have gone all the way to jpg in the regedit thing but there is no shellex under jpg. What do I do from where I am? I have also downloaded that delete undeletable file program and it wouldn't work. Help! |
