![]() if you connect using dialup you can expect things like that to happen from time to time, other than that you should be aware of downloading from users with T3 or higher speds, most of their stuff is corrupt anyway. And don't ever download a video file that is 106.7 KB |

I appreciate all the posts. I do have a question about the above quote. Why is it that most files from users with T3 or higher connections are corrupt? I have not really downloaded a lot as of yet but so far following the posts I have not had any problems downloading what I have so far. Thanks again. -martin- |

![]() You may or may not have notices in your search results spam coming up replicting your every search. That's what he was refering to. Try individually putting .exe .jpg & .wmv into keyword filters to get rid of them. Also see this: Search & Dwnld hints dto help with queued files. It can make a diference deleting the file from dwnld list & reselecting it from the search results! |

![]() There are rumors (I have no idea how true they are) about record companies, or some other entity, intentionally flooding the network with corrupted files to protect copywrited media, especially songs, and even more so, new songs. The fact that when you search for the "***" for instance, you don't have this problem as much as when you search for someone like "^^^" leads me to believe this may be true, at least in part. I know it sounds like a conspiracy theory and maybe it is, but check for yourself. And as for the spamming, does anyone have any info on what limewire is planning to do to block these programs from replicating our searches? Because as I've said before, once they start varying the file size of these ads we're gonna be pretty much screwed.
