During a long download, the speed will drop to 0 KBs and just sit there. The status indicates that it is still downloading but I have literally let it go days without it resuming (pretty sad, eh?). I can connect to the same location and download a concurrent copy of the file but if I cancel the download it will not resume even if I restart the download of the same file on the same server.

Is this a known limit or bug in LimeWire/Gnutella or is it a problem on my end?

Yup, same here, it´s annoying , isn´t it?
It seeems that Limewire still needs some more fine-tuning, I´m seriously thinking ´bout going back to ver 1.3 as I have seen a huge decrease in terms of quality in the new version. Still, the problem you mention happened in ver 1.3 too.

Did anyone at Limewire ever bother to even try to fix this? I'm using 4.18.8 and looked into this forum hoping someone actually bothered to answer a tech support thread since i have the same 0/kb problem. I even tried canceling, deleting the incomplete file entry, and trying again but no luck. It just me connected with a rate of 0 and no sign of expected time to complete the download
