Default can search but not find or download

I am working with windows xp. Limewire just stopped working - Im sure I must have hit the wrong key. I cant download. In search mode the right side of my screen shows normal but the right side which would normally show availability list is not coming up nor the download icons. Currently the right side of my screen shows songs I tried to download this week that did not have enough sources.
I am new to this so help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I think it might be a case of LW settings. If you're using Windows get a mac (just a joke!): go to LW's menu Tools>Options>Downloads & what is the figure in the option box? Is it zero? Change it to what you feel your connection can handle.

Also update your Java: Java 1.4.2 (click on link)

Here's some hints for optimising LW: A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A (1st post only) & also Part B which is even better & last & least are search & dwnld hints. Try not to use the Resume button on many files at once if you do choose to use it at all. Resumeing a great many files can cause kaos for LW's connection quality & will also result in all your files becoming queued for much, much, much longer! So better to search manually for sources & fresh sources.

Default stil not working

LOTR tried your suggestion but it did not help. The figure in my option box was 24.I still cannot get the right side of the screen to function in search mode - from the icons on the left I can tell that stuff is being searched/found but it will not display on the right side to check and then download. Any more tips?

Salut rc3transport, you should provide us a screenshot of what's happening. I think you just minimized parts of the search window. There are little triangles in the window that you can click on so you restore parts of the search window. Those triangles are grouped by two and are showing opposite directions. Hope you understood.

Bonne chance
