Suddenly Lost Upload Capability

Out of the blue, no-one is able to download from me! My firewall is allowing access to LimeWire, Force IP is enabled, I have a static IP set up & am using port forwarding. Things have been fine until yesterday, was having upwards of 100 uploads/day.

I'm using WinXP with SP2 (patched), XP firewall, NetComm NB1300 ADSL Modem, have the latest Java, LimeWire 4.0.8, connecting from home.

No settings have been changed lately, haven't downloaded any updates. Can't uninstall SP2 or there'll be a divorce.

I've been in & checked all my settings re f/wall & port fwd, all are as they should be. I've used the search function but can't find any answers.

Can anyone help?? Thanks!!!

oh, did a bug report & "rec incoming" is false.

Make a note of all your LW settings & then close LW. Then delete your LW preferences called .limewire found here: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire

See how that goes, remember that you will need to reset all settings for LW including Force IP. Give it at least 20 - 30 mins before doing another Bug Report test.

If it's still False, then something's changed. Perhaps your static ip has changed for some reason. You may need to recheck this & other things.

Ok, have deleted preferences, re-set 'em & waited an hour but bug rpt is still "false". When I type my static IP into my browser, it opens the "run" box - would it be so if the st IP had changed?

Well, the " rec incoming " is now true. Thankyou, LOTR...don't know what we'd do without you!!! Merry Xmas!

Fingers crossed! lol Merry Xmas! :)

See this about making sure your static ip is ok (just follow the principle of their example, yours might be a bit different.): http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm

Also you'll find your modem there to fix things if you still have problems for forwarding a port: http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm

Thanks for the sites, will add them to my favourites in case this ever happens again.
Cheers!
