Download Mac

I have read TruStars FAQ and troubleshooting and followed his recommendations but to no avail. I still cannot download Limewire Basic Free for the Mac. I am using an Imac with OS 9.2.2 and I have a broadband connection but I can only download about 2-3MB on this machine before it errors or waits uncharacteristically for more data to be sent before it gives up. Conversely, I downloaded the installer on my machine at home which is a G3 powerbook running OS 9.0.4, 56k modem. Can someone enlighten me as to why a slower connection to the internet is yielding better results??

I don't have an answer to your question but can you download other large files from your broadband connection? Perhaps the physical path to the LimeWire servers differs with the two connections. You might want to do a trace with WhatRoute on each connection to see what's up.
