Every song I download is distorted...Help!!

I just downloaded Lime Wire and immediately began downloading songs, but with every song I download, the sound is so distorted that you can't listen to it....Does anyone know what's wrong???

What means 'Distorted'?? Interrupts, breaks? do files (MP3?) from your harddisk play properly? Is your sound system properly configured (what OS?)
Or do you just have too high system load? Then just shut down everything and try.....
