The problem is that I have never heard of a similar situation. I doubt this is a problem in Limewire or in Java, but you could always try to download java 1.5 and downgrade LW to a prior version http://www9.limewire.com:82/download/ . If that combo doesn't work and Cox tell you everything should be working, that might be an issue with your specific machine. In that case stick to P2P that works for you

Ya that sucks, what are your uploads setting in tools -> options -> transfers -> basic and places ?
Hope you don't have a 0 in places .... that would elimintate transfers... you could always play with those settings to see if it helps.

Default transfer interrupted

I have the very same problem. Downloading all I want, but every single UL attempte get the message 'transfer interrupted'. I also have COX and a router firewall. I do have XP firewall, but I've indicated to allow access for Limewire, (I suspect I would have trouble downloading otherwise). Like you, I feel bad that I can't share effectively. I have over 2000 file to share! If anybody has a relatively painless solution, I'm all ears.

dpierret: This might not affect you b/c they only seem to apply it to some individuals, but Cox are known to slow speeds for p2p users: ISP's known to BLOCK or Filter p2p or specifically Limewire
