Well u may be getting too many processes running and LW isn't exactly at the top of ur computer's priority list. Since u have a fast connection, that doesn't mean anything, everyone has lagg. Try dling from somewhere else, is it just as slow? Try openning LW, click on the Tools tab, Options, and go to downloads, make sure 100% of ur bandwidth is set on downloads, if its not at 100% it will only go about 6KBS. and if its on 100% it should say unlimited.

Delete the LW Preferences folder called .limewire (whilst LW is closed!) & found here: Windows NT 4.0 / 2000 / XP: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire OR Windows 98 / ME: Your .limewire folder is in "C:\My Documents" (BUT make a note of all your LW settings 1st, b/c after you delete the LW prefs folder you'll need to reset them.)

This can often make a difference.

Hint: Don't use the resume/find sources on too many files. It can slow LW & your comp down. It may also affect LW's connection quality. Manual searches are much more effective & healthier for LW, your comp. & the network.

Default Same issue

I am also having the same issue. Hope no one minds that I join this. I have deleted my .limewire file several times, due to another issue with just connecting. I figured it was my service provider, but all of a sudden, limewire started working again. I quite using Kazaa because of performance. Limewire seemed so much faster. It has worked great for me for some time, quit working, and now is just real slow. We're talking speeds of 3, 5, 8 kbs. This is far slower than before. Files that took 3 to 4 minutes now can take 25 minutes for example. Just trying to fine tune it. It has proven to be much faster than Kazaa and now it's not as impressive. If there are any suggestions, I'll do it. Thanks.

well i guess its not just me...i dunno what to say... what i do know is that everyone i know who had kazaa experienced viruses, and eventually a complete crash,(including me) i think its because kazaa, along w/ bearshare and many others are ad supported, therefor allowing for hacking and other such things... i liked limewire as well and was very satisfied, but now i'm discouraged and frustrated... i want to dwnld songs!!!
