![]() I can not download anything anymore. It says it goes to 100% immediately and it will not move files to the library. I had a message before that said there were bugs and I sent in the review. I then uninstalled the program and reinstalled but it is still doing the same thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have also tried to contact support on my music inc as well as limewire but no responses. thanks in advance |

![]() Try these things one by one until one works: 1. Update your Java version 1.5 (take the JRE) 2. Delete the LW Preferences folder called .limewire (whilst LW is closed!) & found here: Windows NT 4.0 / 2000 / XP: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire OR Windows 98 / ME: Your .limewire folder is in "C:\My Documents" (BUT make a note of all your LW settings 1st, b/c after you delete the LW prefs folder you'll need to reset them.) 3. Repair LimeWire using the Add/Remove Programs utility. Go to Control Panel then Add/Remove Programs & click on Limewire on the Change/Remove button & it comes up with options and one of them is Repair. Try this. 4. Right-clicking the Limewire icon and going to properties and change compatability setting to Windows 2000. 5. Right-click on the Limewire icon on the desktop and click on Run as. Then it should come up showing the current user and then switch it over to Administrator. (but 'only' if you're the admin of your comp.!) |

![]() Give LW some time to settle down. It needs time to load the incomplete & shared files whilst also attempting to connect with each one individually. Depending on how many files there are, this might take 5, 10, 15 25 mins. Let it settle before jumping in & searching. Don't use the Resume/Find Sources function on too many (if any) files. Searching your topic is much more effective & healthier for both LW, your comp & the network. Some hints: A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A (1st post only) & also Part B which is even better & last & least are search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities. |
