![]() I could really use some guidance with using this thing, expecially in finding a reply to a thread I've posted. I get an email saying that someone has replied to my thread, with an address to link to in order to see this reply, but when I get there I have no idea where this reply actually is. Please help. ![]() Thanks, Peerless, I did use the search and did find my stuff. However, I also was directed, apparently, directly to your response to my 'last' query, which is how I think it should be. Anyway, I have another question. When looking at the 'quality' column, what does it mean when you see what appears to be a folder with an arrow up and into it? Is that better than 4 stars, or what? Last question, for now, how do you know if someone has downloaded a file or files from you? I've looked at the monitor and seen that there were apparently searches being made, although I'm now sure how to interpret that, either. I see that there is an uploads (active, inactive), whiich I have never seen anything but '0'. Is there some way to tell if and how much has been actually uploaded? Thanks, Dev |

![]() When I click on My Library, I don't get a 'shared' files option; I do get a 'saved' files, which shows nothing. There is also an incomplete option, which shows a large number of files, with an upload column showing nothing but 0/0. I'm confused... |

![]() If you don't already have shared folders listed in the library window (to the left.) Then you'll need to add a folder or more if you wish to share. There's 2 ways of doing this: 1. Tools>Options>Shared & add the folder or more that you wish to share (but make sure only files you wish to share are inside.) 2. Go to LW's Library window & then menu & choose Add folder to Share. See below (the example is from OSX but the same principle applies!) |

![]() I'm afraid there has been a failure to communicate with this old foggy brain of mine. I've been looking for a 'shared files folder> I now see that what is showing to the left in the Library ARE the shared files. I did notice that everything is 0/0 ynder the uploads column. Does this column keep track indefinitely? If so, I have never had an upload, which is hard to believe when I see how hard my modem is working. Dev |

![]() No, that list only keeps track of what's been happening during that session. Another way to check these details is to look at your Statistics. Go to LW's menu Tools>Statistics. There's also an option there to look at Advanced stats. I wonder if people can't upload from you due to a firewall. ![]() Have you configured your firewalls to allow LW full access: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml Also, is that a dial up modem you have? High speed modems frequently have internal firewalls which are generally NAT firewalls. If you have such a modem/router, you may need to forward a port (ie: open port 6346) which LW uses. After LW's been open for at least 30 mins do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is it True/False? If it's false it means there's a firewall preventing people upload from you. If you have a high speed modem & want assistance to forward a port, you'll need to tell us the brand name & model number of the modem/router. But the problem might not be this device. |
