What do you mean goes blank? What part of LW goes blank?

If you put your cursor near an mp3 it's id tag will show with more details about the song. But if you hang the cursor around there for too long it may cause LW to flash so to speak. This is a Java issue.

How much available HDD space do you have available. LW for OSX uses a lot of Virtual Memory (stores info on the HDD) if it's been running a long time. It can also use considerable ram.

Solutions to above is to close any LW windows you're not using (eg: connections, Monitor & library windows.) Also to rid of search results that are several hours old. Also to Hide LW in the background (in the dock.) And also to have your downlds set to Auto-clear. These things can help to minimise this VM & ram use.

Also don't use the Resume button on too many (if any) files. This can slow LW down, hog your bandwidth, slow your comp down, & affect LW's connection quality.

After you open LW, let it settle for at least 20 mins before doing anything. For me I often just turn it on & leave it to run without doing anything & it looks after itself. See: eg: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...028#post116028

These might help too: A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A (1st post only) & also Part B which is even better & last & least are search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities.
