Default ah--this is what I was trying to find earlier

Ok. I posted this in a completely different spot earlier--sorry about that. This is where I meant to post it--

*copy paste magic*

I will say right off the bat that I am a new user to limewire. I've been trying out a couple downloads just to get a hang of the software but everytime I complete a download I go to play it and it's an add for a free IPOD. It this just something that's annoying as hell but is bound to come up?

Or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks---

Kate

I haven't been downloading .jpg or .wmv for audio. I downloaded video files and mp3s.

Ah. Thank you. Spam, eh. What the **** is that about? I hate spam. *kills* ^_^()

Well obviously anything so small in size is not going to be a movie. For full movies you should be looking at cd size; around 500 to 700 MB in size. The best movie formats are avi, mpeg/mpg.

Cool

Yes--I realize that....I was just downloading a few test files. I know that something that's 500kb isn't going to be a feature film but I didn't think it would be 20 seconds of a blinking Ipod. Sorry--I'm coming off as a generally crappy person. Beh. Sorry.

But hey, the link answered my question. Thanks for the advice. ^_^

The above link & its links explain all ... well most of what you need to know. It's a pain I know but it's a fact of life. You just need to recognise them (always the same sizes & from T1 sources) or filter them out which is easier & very effective.
