Sources do not recognise partial download I am downloading a file which is partially complete. When I search for the file name to find more sources, the file is there but either has a rating icon or the icon for a file that you have part of but has been cancelled. The download does not resume and when I double click on the file in the search results, LimeWire starts a new download of the same file calling it <filename>(2).<fileext>. This download will transfer but the original one can't seem to get a source. Does anyone know what's going on? Could the source be sharing a partially complete file? |
I have run into similar situations. What I have noticed is that the files in question normaly have something just a little different. For example the file size may be different or the title may have an extra space in it. If the file is in d/l screen it should resume automaticaly if you find a source. If it is in the incomplete folder you can highlight the file and click resume one time, and this should move it back to the d/l window. Do not click resume more than once as this creates a hardship on your resources and the G network I normally d/l the one that has the best speed. Then delete the other out of the incomplete folder. |
Well when I opened LimeWire today the file had gone back to 0% anyway, one of LW's delightful quirks, so I guess it doesn't matter anyway. |
