Question Virus Scanning

Is there a way to scan files for viruses before i download them using my norton? Or is that not possible?

I haven't found a way yet, but if you have norton set to autoscan it should catch and isolate any viruses as soon as they are detected, which normally prevents any harm being done to your system.

I run Norton Internet Security 2004 all the time. It would be better if we knew what version you were asking about.

Not sure in 2005, but I will give you the steps for 2004 they may work.

Double left click the blue and green globe in the task tray this should bring it up on your screen. Click on options then click on norton antivirus - check enable auto protect

I have the AVG paid version which catches the virus and puts it in the virus vault automatically. Have been using LW to download for the four days and only picked up two trojan horses.
Attention newbies: You should absolutely never leave your computer unprotected. If you have no anti-virus program get one asap!
