Well to begin with in LW under help - about LimeWire - that will tell you your LW version and Java version.

I'm not sure which operating system your using, so I will tell you how for WindowsXP. 1) start 2) control panel 3) systems -
The general tab will list your operationg system, RAM and CPU -
Go to the Hardware Tab and click device manager - This will list your hard disk drive and it's size, What modem and/or ethernet card and it's and speed.

You can look at your external modem for a type and model no.

Your firewalls would be something like if you had sp2 installed or a software program like Norton Internet Security, McAffee, etc. Also some modems have built in firewalls. That is why we need the modem infromation.

Also where you connect from - self explanatory-
What is your DSL connection speed. You can call your ISP to find this out. Also who is ISP (Internet service provider)

You can do a speed test to see what your available speed is HERE (click on link) remembering though that some of your speed is lost in overhead. So overhead + your speed test result = your official connection speed.
