Default I don't understand LimeWire

I have downloaded it today. And I assume it works similar to Kazaa, which I had a long time ago. But when I type in a name of an artist, it says the connection is very good, but it doesn't seem to be doing any searching. Can anyone help me here?

THANKS

I can probably give you a few answers to these things, but way not everything.

My computer is a Packard Bell, but something was changed on it last Summer, as my computer broke down. So, not sure if that changed anything important. I don't know how much RAM I have, but there should be plenty, I don't download much.

I have Firewalls from Microsoft, but I don't think I have them on, also not the ones from Norton, if the Anti Virus has Firewalls. I also have Norton InternetSecurity Proffesional.

I downloaded Limewire 4.4.5

Java, not sure if this is a number, but this is what it says Java\j2re1.4.2_06

Got a Motorola Modem

As far as I know I have cable

My ISO is my provider right? Well that is chello.nl

More I couldn't tell you. Don't know why you need all this, but hope you can help me get Limewire to work.

THANKS

All the same, you should configure your firewalls to allow LW total access, instructions here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml & also Configuring Norton Internet Security (click link) (note about Norton 2005 at bottom.)

Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say ‘Test Page was a Success’. What happens when you go there?

When you type in a search & press the search button, what happens?
By the way you can download th emanual here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/userguide.shtml (unzip it & open with Acrobat Reader - google it if you don't have it.)

At Norton, it was already permit all at the Firewall. I haven't got my other firewall on.

And when I went to that link you gave, it said Testpage succes.

I just typed in ***** just to try and it gave me lots of songs, did the same with a Dutch singer and it did it too, so it is working.

I don't know what I did wrong, maybe because I didn't restart the computer after downloading Limewire?

But thanks for your help.

CARINA
