Problems downloading I am a new user on limewire. When I first downloaded limewire it was working great. I bought a new computer a week ago and I have been unable to get anything to download since. My computer uses windows XP home edition and has Mcafee virus protection. I have Windows Firewall. I had no problem downloading limewire and getting a connection but anytime I try to download any program, music or movie but I always get the message that I need more sources, that it is awaiting sources. I have tried to do many of the suggestions I found on the forum. I don't know how to tell when I am uploading so I haven't tried that suggestion. I have tried putting gnutella as an aceptable site around my firewall and I have tried downloading from different sources, and downloading different times and different days. I have also stoped the downloading and started it again many times. I am out of ideas on how to do peer to peer sharing. The only idea that I have not tried is downloading while uploading and that is because I don't know how to tell when this is happening. Soory for the lengthy explanation. |
http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml These are the directions you must take in order to properly configure the Windows firewall. If you scroll down the page, there's also a link for the McAfee firewall. |
I have tried to use this link previously and I am still having no luck sharing files. I don't know what else to do. |
Did you configure for both TCP and UDP, and are you running both firewalls at the same time? It is best if you just use one or the other. To see your monitor screen in LW view>show/hide>monitor --- click if it does not already have check mark by it. Your u/l will be shown in the lower half of the screen |
