Lightbulb help me before i attack my computer with an axe

I have just thrown my windows right out the window and bought a mac its great but there are many things i ahve to get used of here after useing windows for 8 years.

I am useing OS10.3 I have been told there are no viruses on a mac is this true? sounds like it is not to me is there any where I can down load trail versions of this anti virus stuff for a mac?

Regarding lime wire I am trying to get my hands on ph*** **p etc but each time it seems the files i get are corrupt, why is this?

Also I have made a folder when setting up lime wire for my downloads to go on to but can never find any do they just dissapare?

Regarding itunes I have pasteda music folder on my desk top from my windows its about one gig I want to put this music in to i tunes how do I do this?
If anyone canhelp me out there I will be very impressed.
Thank you.

For iTunes see: http://www.kapsi.de/files/itunes.html (adding songs) It's much easier to use than the windows version.

I've never had a mac osx virus in 3 years I've been using it! (I did get 2 early mac viruses in OS 9 but not off the net.) At present OSX users are very safe. But I do have norton AV for to check folders of downlds just as insurance.

LW will only downld to where you tell it to. Go to LW's Preferences>Saving & direct it to the folder you want to save to or create one. Always press the Apply button whenever you change any of LW's preferences.

here's a good read on OS X malware http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1777202,00.asp

How do I know there are no Mac OS X viruses and malware out there?

Because the Mac product manager of one of the major security software companies told me so.

And when people tell me I don't need their product, I usually take them at their word.
As for saving your setup, see http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=151625

This is a neat little trick. If you create a new admin user, and delete your old one, all the files will be stuffed into a handy .dmg file which is easily opened, transferred from machine to machine, or whatever. However, don't hit the "delete immediately button"
