Default Very Slow Downloading

I have had LW for about 6 months and never had a bit of trouble out of it till about 1 1/2 months ago i changed nothing. I have a 3.02 GB processor with 1 GB DDR ram windows XP home and a cable connection with 2mb downstream and i used to get about 70 kbs to 180 kbs not i am lucky to get one. What could have caused it? I have disabled my windows firewall and have my norton 2005 worm protector on but is says it is allowing LW Can anyone help?

ISP? Maybe they have something to do with it.

They don't always tell you that they're filtering your p2p use. Why would they tell you they are secretly doing it.

Let's try something basic, delete your LW preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

Also just to check, after LW's been open at least 30 mins Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is it True/False? If false then there's a firewall somewhere not properly configured for LW's use.

1. window xp home
2. windows(turned off) and norton?
3.
4. plenty
5. cable
6. linksys 4 port router nr041
7. home
8. just updated lw and java to latest versions
9. vistaIII media

2. Please configure your Norton firewall here: Configuring Norton Internet Security

3. Cable can be affected by local use, such as by neighbours & there tends to be peak times when speed might be affected. Some cable co.'s also slow speeds of those using p2p.

* can you run the bug test I asked for earlier & tell us whether it's True/False.

Try not downlding too many files simultaneously & don't resume all your files (using the Resume button) when you 1st start LW.

The answer to the bug test was false, and i'm the only one within a mile using Cable so i'm a little lost of why nothing is working. I can download content off the net in Explorer at about 100-170Kbs.
