Default 4.8.1 definitely a bug on Resumed download always starts at 0%

Despite what others have said about this - it wasn't a problem for me until 4.8.1. I never shifted the files from my incomplete folder, never touched the .dat files, didn't have a crash, etc., etc., but since 4.8.1 instal - downloads begin at 0% - even when I have some 300mg of a file - it returns it back to zero and starts downloading the file again.

I have used my back-up folder of incompletes and re-installed LW - and deleted prefs. Same thing - it deletes the partially downloaded file and begins the process again of downloading files.

If someone knows how to fix this - please post - otherwise it is a bug that has serious problems and needs to be fixed.

Try deleting your main LW preferences folder whilst LW is closed, instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

Had tried that earlier - with no success. Same thing - returns files back to 0%. Probably only option is to go back to early version of LW - but that means all the partial's are useless.

Do you have another solution please ?

One in every 100,000 people says each present version has such a bug & have been saying that for 6 months or so. I'm really not sure what could be causing this problem. Most other people haven't had the same issue.

Yes LOTR. You are correct. I checked the forum before posting. I checked other postings and web searches. There are many posts regarding this. However, not everyone will post - some will just leave for another/diff P2P without saying a word.

This was not a problem for me until 4.8.1. Now the progress shows 0% and files that were not complete the day before - start back at zero. Recall, unlike other users - the INCOMLETE folder/files were not moved. There was no crash, etc.

One would have to say - that if it wasn't there a year ago (my prev update) and now it's been around for 6 months or so - then the program needs to be eliminated from the equation - at this point in time - that isn't happening.

Tech Support haven't answered other users questions on this - so there is no official word on why the problem or how to fixt it.

It's shame really. LW is a fairly good program when it functions correctly.

Many Thanks for your reply.

It would help if there was more information available on your system setup.

Computer type and CPU
Operating system and sp
Java Version.

It would greatly help to isolate this problem. As LotR stated not many people have this problem. and as you stated also they may just move on to another program.

Just a quick note: This is a forum and not tech support. We are volunteers that help the best we can, and have no affiliation with Lime Wire LLC other than using the program like other users.

Have a good day

The only occasions this has happened to me was every few months with LW 2, but I had an obsolete version of Java, which I couldn't update due to the OS version. And the other time was when I swapped back from LW 4.1.5 (or 1.7) back to LW 4.0.4 This happened 2 or 3 times. Strange b/c I was able to step back to 4.0.4 with the other in-between versions. But this didn't happen everytime I started the program; only on those particular occasions & circumstances.

Are you sure you don't have more than one version of LW on your computer? On windows, if you do have another version on your computer, it will sometimes run in the background without you realising. Do a complete search on your computer for limewire. Just a thought!

(Wow 3 posts in one minute! lol )
