I checked my BIOS and the cpu speed is set to Auto.

What you said about teh overclocking issue is true, thats why I should have remembered I prefer Auto to Manual.

So now I have a pc formatted, no viruses, cpu is running as it should be, psu seems fine (I have not a votage meter to test), memory checks out fine, all software is ok.

Therefore, I have no idea what can be wong...But If any user is local to my loacation nr Glasgow, I would be only too pleased for them to check my pc out (more heads are better than 1).

I appreciate your and others help in getting LW fixed for good.

Dont fancy Bear Sharelite - LW is superb

I presume your "tester" drive is the 17 gig HDD you had. So, may I offer a suggestion?? Keep that as your main drive (easier to maintain) and use your other drive>fidisked & reformatted, of course>as a slave to save all your music and important files. Using the cut & paste method is best and will preserve the integrity of your second drive should your first drive take another unexpect dump.

Default yea

Iv got the same problem with my computer suddenly shutting off for apparently no reason. Sometimes it takes 20 minutes, other times it takes 8 hours. I cannot believe that limewire can overheat my system while some of the most graphic intensive games do not.

windows XP
2.4ghz p4
100gb hdd
geforce 4 4600 - yea, shes old, but still runs the new games
1gig 2700DDR
450watt power supply

no viruses and no adware found on last run.
