partial downloads lost any files in my download list are reset to 0KB if my connection is dropped. (ie. if I've been downloading a file for 5hrs on my lame dial-up connection and have say 85% of a 40MB file, lose my connection and LW does not save the data already downloaded - damn thing resets the file in Incomplete folder to 0KB) any work around for this folks?? ...anybody??? or do I have to keep on trying other quirky P2P clients - must be a stable one somewhere!?? |
partial downloads lost forgot to mention I'm running Mac OS X 10.3.whatever (G5) and current LW 4.8.1 |
Re: partial downloads lost [QUOTE]Originally posted by pronoia [B]any files in my download list are reset to 0KB if my connection is dropped. I don't know about in the OS X version, but in the MacOS version 4.0.7 at least these were not reset and one could click on the resume-type buttons to finish off the download on a later connection. However, with UNIX I'm not sure how all that works, as I'm not using OS X yet! Are you sure they are reall 0K files and not just reporting bad? Have you looked at the file size in Finder as opposed to in Limewire? Have you checked the preferences to see if there is some "reset to zero upon dropped connection"-type preference which has been inadvertently selected? |
thanks - yes, checked all those points, but the problem seems to be within LW itself. Used a number of other P2P apps with resume functions and they all resume where left off as expected... |
