Codec issue. Get xtra codecs iether here: http://www.land.ee/d_nimo_codec.html OR http://www.free-codecs.com/ & get yourself a backup player also: VLC (free & has built-in codecs): http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (choose nearest mirror site)

Default Still having trouble playing avis and other video

I am using limewire and use microsoft windows xp...i tried downloading a codec and vlc media player but my files still wont play. they will download ok, but when i try to preview the video while downloading a warning appears "Could not open .... because the filename was bad" is that an indication that my computer is at fault for not being able to open it or is it the file on limewire that's bad?
thank u for the advice

Please keep all your posts about the same topic to the same thread. I merged this one with your previous post.

It sounds as though there's a problem with the file. If VLC can't play it then that's bad news.

Just a moment ... filename was bad ... perhaps the name is too long or has an illegal character. Try renaming the file. Change the main name of the file to something very short ... also check it has the correct & complete extension.
