Tired of Hidden Files Im really tired of thinking Im downloading one file, and then it turns out to be another file. For example I just downloaded Smallville Episode 17 and when I open the file, I find a pornographic anime film. This is fraud, naming your files by commonly searched file names and hiding their true content. |
Please see autogenerated spam results & Movie download issues Some common sense goes a long way here. As if a movie is going to be 106 KB in size. |
I did use common sense. The downloaded file was the aproximate KB size for a 45 minute show. I have read the automated spam and can usually identify them by their type or size. This I think is another problem. What I think happens is that people hide files on their computers with inocuos names so as not to draw attention to the file in case of third party people gain access to their files. Still, it has become a problem lately, specially for me since my computer is accessed by others, including younger users, who may receive unsuitable files. This is not the first instance where porn has been hidden under another name, and the adult filters don't filter out these files. Omby |
I think you're getting confused here between KB & MB. KB = Kilobytes. MB = Megabytes. 1,000 x 1 KB = 1 MB 1 minute of uncompressed PAL/NTSC video = over 200 MB So how can a 106 KB file = 45 minute video As suggested in the link I gave above. Most video has been compressed to fit onto cd's. So a 2 hr movie = 650 or 700 MB 45 min video is going to be at least over 100 MB or well over 100,000 KB Some xtra related reading: 1.
