Characters which are not supported I just installed Limewire Basic on my Mac with OSX (10.3). Every time I try to download something, I get the error "LimeWire cannot open a necessary file because the file name contain characters which are not supported by your operating system. LimeWire may behave in unexpected ways." The thing is, the stuff I'm trying to download doesn't contain ANY weird characters...just your basic english, with a dash between the artist and song. Is there some sort of setting I need to change in LimeWire for it to override this? I checked, but couldn't find anything. I also checked previous posts, but couldn't find anyone with the same exact problem, so hopefully, someone can help. Thanks! |
Have you enabled your font's for various programs & the Web? Open up Font Book from your applications folder & enable (drag some font sets over to Web.) Activate some more font sets. Under System Preferences>International see what's activated & see if you want to add some localised or international language use. Do you have Unicode activated for input. Other than this I'm not sure of your problem. |
Thanks. Unfortunately, none of that worked. |
Just to be clear, the songs I'm trying to d/l do not have ANY odd characters in them (Chinese or otherwise), and I can not download anything. Thanks for your suggestions. |
