Default malware file

Hi -

I downloaded a file from LimeWire called "reason serial number free.exe," which contains one self-extracting file. The original (.zip) file size is 1293.072 KB, which shows up as 1,263 KB in Windows Explorer.

This included archived (.exe) file inserts the EliteBar toolbar into Internet Explorer, and slows my system remarkably. I dug up this information about what it stuck in my computer from the Hijack log analyzer at http://hjt.iamnotageek.com/.

BHO: &EliteBar - {28CAEFF3-0F18-4036-B504-51D73BD81ABC} - [SABInprocServer32]

When I found the .zip file again on LimeWire I was unable to browse the host but the address was 68.99.88.1956346.

Hope this helps. Since I'm new here I would appreciate someone letting me know if I should post this information somewhere else, either instead of or in addition to this forum - or any other help that I might seem to require.

mcga
