Manually changed "Saved" folder, now "Incomplete" folder changed automatically Hello, I hope this is the right forum. I have LimeWire 4.81, Windows 98, 333Mhz, 128Mb. My hard drive is partitioned as C: D: and E: drives. C: was getting low on space, so I created a Shared folder on my D: partition and made that the default and only Shared folder. LimeWire automatically created an Incomplete folder on my D: drive, though, and I still want it to use the one on the C: that has lots of incomplete files to finish downloading. How do I fix this? To recap, I just want incomplete files on my C: drive which will then be moved to my D: drive when downloaded so my C: partition doesn't run out of space. |

Thanks for your reply. OK, first I made a really dumb typo. I meant the "Shared" folder, not the "Saved" folder. The Saved and Incomplete folders are the same, right? The confusion originally arose because in Options, it says the Saved folder, even though it's actually the Incomplete folder. Maybe the naming could be more consistent in future upgrades, or at least the difference explained in future FAQ? Anyway, I've now got my Incomplete/Saved folder on the C: drive, while my Shared folder (for completed files) is on the D: drive. No worries! Sorry for wasting your time. :-) |

I don't like the way that LW uses the title 'Shared' as the default name of the downld folder. I think it's confusing. By default this folder is shared so it means you're sharing everything you're downlding. (I changed the name of my downld folder to LW downld folder lol.) 'Shared' folder = Downld folder = 'Saved Files' folder (it's the one folder with 2 different names.) Incomplete folder = all files not 100% downlded Any other folders you decide to share are whatever you decide to name them. So yes you can move your completed files out of the Saved/Shared folder & move to drive D |

Actually, that's a good point. All these folders have shared files, some complete, some incomplete. Maybe LW should have three different kinds of folders - Downloading, Completed and Shared., Thanks for your prompt responses, Lord of the Rings. I see your name everywhere throughout these forums. You help a lot of people and you don't even get paid for it! |

Thank you. I did get a complimentary LW Pro for my efforts & something else sent to me. Your incomplete files can be shared optionally of course. Under Tools>Options>Uplds>Basic you can tick or untick Share Partially downlded files. To add folders for sharing you can either go to Tools>Options>Sharing & press Add, OR go to Library window, menu File>Add Folder to Share. |
