1. Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

2. Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue!

3. After opening LW wait 10 to 20 mins before using. Let it settle down 1st.

4. Don't use the Resume button on all incomplete files. This will also stress LW & your comp. If you use Resume/Find sources then just apply it to a couple or so at one time.

5. Some hints: A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A (1st post only) & also Part B which is even better & last & least are search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities.

greetings juanecoll

One thing you must remember is that your d/l speed is dependant upon the u/l speed of the host(s). If the host is a dialup up user. you won't get more than 6 KB/s, and that is if the host is sharing the full bandwith for u/l, which I doubt.

Another possibilty is that the file your trying to d/l is popular and the host is extremely busy processing all the requests, and has spread the u/l slots a bit then to handle everyting.
