Default unrecognized incomplete files

i've searched previous threads and google all to no avail. however, i am a mere newb in the gnutella forums so maybe i missed it.

my problem: restarted my computer, then restarted limewire (currently running most up to date version) and a message appeared saying something like 'LW is unable to resume old downloads' or something to that extent. so my DL menu was empty. i went to my library to the incomplete folder, selected all and clicked resume. so LW sent all my incomplete files to the download menu however all were at 0% when MANY were 10, 20, 50, 80, 90% etc. complete. i tried restarting the comp., reinstalling LW (hoping it would recognize the progress of those old inc. files), etc. nothing. also, i had changed the default '7 days to save incomplete files' to much longer. that i did awhile back so i know its not that. all my incomplete downloads are recognized, just not how much of it is there. also LW is unable to preview any of these files. Unless i actually open the incomplete folder and open the file with WMP. then, however much is there, will play. some of this stuff is very important to me and im willing to try anything! please help anybody! thanks!

Find a god and start praying, because there is no afterlife for "partially finished, incomplete files that are 'lost'..."

As archstanton said there's not much you can do. By not closing LW down properly, its downld preferences became corrupted. So those old incompletes will mean nothing to LW. Computer crashes can cause this to happen.
You can try to resume them from the library window but they will start from 0% if they do start to downld.
