Uploads per person? Thanks, fabion, for documenting your results. QUESTION: Does Options... Uploads... Slots... Uploads per person mean simultaneous uploads? or total uploads? If total, then how/when is it reset? I had interpreted it to mean simultaneous, so I had set it to 3. I had set mine to 3 per person, 6 slots total (I have a slow PC.) I've just reset it to 5 per person to be on the safe side, and 7 slots. sberlin::
We've discovered an alternative (thanks, sberlin!) to TCP/UDP port forwarding... UPnP!? Everything screams real fast now, except Direct Connect is not tested yet... I have Tools... Options... Bug Reports... Received incoming this session: false but it seems LimeWire DL+UL works AOK anyway, UPnP must be an alternative to port forwarding, if your firewall supports it?! Comments, please?

that is also what I also saw, on occasion... could it be a LW bug? My "Max uploads per person" was set to 3... That really means 3 CONCURRENT, yes?

If LimeWire hasn't received than incoming connection, then your router didn't support UPnP (or didn't support it properly, atleast). LimeWire won't just keel over and die if it can't get incoming connections (it still works quite well), but Direct Connect & other things won't work. What this means, though, is that you need to tell LimeWire that it is using "Manual Port Forward" and set your routers appropriately. Leaving LW at UPnP won't work, even if the router is configured. This way, LW will know why its receiving incoming connections, and can set things up correctly. |

Hey... I am up now. Set firewall for TCP + UDP on port 6969 for my PC. Mac is offline now. Set up LimeWire for Manual Port Fwd on 6969... ready to test? sberlin :: I'm guessing... with RCVD = false, there was little point in trying DC any further... right?

I had to actually type in :6969 at the end of the ip to get you but ... no files in result. It did the search ok but no results. I'll see if i can remember a file of yours to search that not too many others have. No I'm not getting anywhere. Last edited by Lord of the Rings; April 29th, 2005 at 02:25 PM. |

Fabion's gone out for a time so I don't know if he'll see the same as me but from my end everything looks healthy. Even the Chat icons are showing in the search results. Public ip, ip in black, etc. |
