Default WTF is this crap

Well as u probally know, i'm a new user. And my little cousin comes over every now and then. And when she does, she like to d/l stuff like Hilary Duff music videos and crap like that. And she already nows how to d/l to an extent. And i was watching her search for Hilary Duff music videos. And when the search came up i was shocked to see that some of the files were labeled child porn and things of that nature. So i was just wondering, does Gnutella moniter what is able to be d/led or what. Cuz i dont want my little cousin to d/l anything like that and i not know about it, and it stay in my saved files and i get busted for it. Cant Gnutella delete these files or at least prevent them from being put up to d/l. Thx for reading.

Well everybody is free to share what they want to share. 1. Quality of Content on the Network & 2. autogenerated spam results & also Movie download issues And did you apply the adult filters under Tools>Options>Filters ...

Ok i can understand freedom to share what they want, but when its the illegal. I mean maybe in other contries it not, but here in the US, u get fined and prison time for d/ling child porn, wheter its ur fault or not. All they need is the fact that its on ur computer and thats all they need. I mean cant Gnutella trace where exactly these files are being uploaded and report them to the proper authorities.

I am a very new computer user and even newer user to limewire and this topic is something i have questioned myself -- i fully understand it's a sharing sytem but surely the company have a moral obligationto have people check and pursue the people responsible for upping this in the first place !! wots the score !!

I think you chaps miss the point about file sharing. It not a service provided for the public by a bonafide organisation that is answerable to the law - It IS the public and global at that - that's what makes it so fantastically different.

Educate yourself about the risks and benefits, don't wail to have it controlled for you by others.

If you have a serious grievence about the material others are providing don't carp about it - report it if you think it necessary..but are you sure your own file sharing activites are fully moral?

Reference to Lassie's last reply ----- how can you compare file sharing on a par with the people who access disgusting material mentioned above .... and i do think in that particular respect there should me control and a moral obligation for the company to account for them ................. file sharing is not that important !! open yr eyes

Hi paul0107

lassie has a valid point, and she has the right to express her opinion, as you do and have.
