actually, you didn't read my first post, from what I meant by "still couldn't download' I meant the songs, anywhwere. I have the program up and running.....but when I try to download a song, it says, couldn't download all the time....the hosts are up and running and I am connected. I downloaded like 10 songs last week, and havent been able to download any in a long time. let me know if you can help!

thanks,
Tim

Are you using a firewall? Even if you have it configured properly, downloading from other firewalled users will be unsuccessful. If you're not behind a firewall, make sure that you are sharing files with the community. Many users block other people who do not share.

Does nothing here help? Try downloading from a modem user. Does it fail? Most often, they aren't firewalled. A modem user should be able to upload to you just fine.

Please give some more details about the problem if you continue experiencing this. :-)

Unhappy grrr hehe

i just don't know what to do, the only firewall i have setup is the one that is built into my router, but how would LimeWire have let me download last week? i don't get it.

I tried downloading from modem users, and it started off as connecting to 100.40.20.40 their IP and then about 2 seconds later it woudl say couldnt' download as opposed to the T1 or T3 lines where sometimes it would do that but most would be instantaneous.

I made sure I was sharing songs, have 10 sharing to be exact....and I downloaded them all on Limewire which this is so weird.

i'm not sure what else there is to do....i just don't get it. and I need music hehe. gosh please help.....it's a linksys router and I've also got it connected to a switch, but like I said it didn't have any problems last week, and it sure doesn't have any problems connecting to hosts, because it says i Have like 340 hosts with 326GB of files to choose from. and my searches go fast as heck....but I just can't download anything.

Quite odd. Assuming you didn't change any settings on your PC (or Windows didn't change them for you - convenient when it does that, eh?), then I would probably conclude that you are on a streak of bad luck (ha- right) or your ISP is cencoring your connection. They might be trying to block your downloads when using any file-sharing utility. Are you sure you didn't change anything in your software, hardware configuration?

Unhappy about to cry

well, i just don't think it will work, I swear i haven't changed any of the settings.....and I just keep getting the "couldn't download"

i don't know it's so weird. I'm on linux too by the way, and I don't think there is anyway that road runner ISP could detect me using p2p programs but they never did stuff in the past.

anyway, i think I might just try to reinstall the progam and see what happens.

thanks anyway,
tim
