Default 99 to 0

Hi,

I downloaded a file. 99% have been completed. Then the download stopped. I had this situation several times and it wasn't too bad cause the download sooner or later would be completed.
Today I opened LimeWire and it told me that my shared directory was invalid. So I changed the directory. WOW my 99% completed download was gone. I clicked on resume in Library>Incomplete Files but the download is at 0%.

WTF????

Doesn't LimeWire take into account that the size of this file is almost 1GB. I mean the file has NOT been corrupted by exiting LW unproperly. LimeWire has always been shut down PROPERLY!!!!
Is there no way to recover my frickin' 99%?

1. Movie file right? Chances are that at 99% all you'll miss out on is the credits. Why not try to preview it. Use the Explore button on your incomplete folder to open it & remove the file. Then open it up with your video player.

2. Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

3. LW will attempt to redownld a file it considers as corrupt up to 6 times before giving up. LW initially downlds the hash tree which has all the info on the file. If at the end of the downlding process this differs from what you have then it tries to recoup that missing bit or byte .. but if the file is corrupt at its source or hashtree has changed then it won't be able to confirm it.

thx for the answer.

point 1. I already tried this one. Doesn's work. Some players don't even play the file others cancel after 20 seconds. And if I click on "Preview" Limewire tells that there was nothing to preview.

point 2. I deleted my .limewire but that didn't change anything

point 3. Limewire doesn't consider my file as corrupted so it doesn't attempt to redownload the file or hash tree or whudd eva.
What's that hash tree thing anyway?

But even it didn't work thanks!

I think what you need is a backup player such as VLC which has in-built codecs: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (choose nearest mirror site)

See what it can do here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html

ie: Try to view it again with VLC!

Try going to the Library (in LW) and clicking the Incompletes folder, then browsing the files until you find an incomplete that looks like the one that was at 99% (so if the complete file was 100MB, then that incomplete would be 99MB and so on. duh ). If you find it, highlight the file and click resume. LW should try and resume the download from 99% (you can at that point try searching again for the file through the search function in order to help LW come up with some sources).
If, now, you can't seem to find a file that looks like 99%, then it's time to consider that the file has been deleted from the download.dat list and thus LW doesn't recognize it as an incomplete anymore. In that case... I'm sorry but I can't help you.

I already tried playing the file with VLC. Didn't work.

Seems like the file has been deleted from the download.dat because when I click on resume button the LW starts downloading the file with 700MB at 0%.

There has to be a way to put the file information back into the download.dat....
