Smile Tip for isp filters or blocks

Hello everyone, many of you may have had or have the same issue i did. my isp has all of my ports "filtered". what they are filtering is anything that is not html requests. most all ports are totally unuseable. however after trying many different things includeing port tunneling i stumbled on a port that works. its port 3500. in limewire go to tools: options: firewall settings: then change both feilds to 3500. close limewire and restart it. after a few minutes it should start to do well. this is not a bulletproof technique but it has worked for me and most of my friends. if it doesnt work try different ports, they surely wont all be completley blocked. btw i have a 512/256 dsl and i am getting average download speeds of about 20 to 30 kps now versus the 0 to 1 i was getting. hope this works for some of you and thanks for sharing.

Changing the firewall setting to port 3500 did work for downloads but my upload speeds are still terrible I am capped at 768 Kbps upload and speed tests show that my upload is at 883 Kbps I make sure to check it often what I am getting at is what about setting up the proxy every proxy IP I tried from a Google search came up with unable to connect to Limewire I am unsure if I set that up right I'm tried of having my connection being filtered
