![]() Just downloaded Limeware and was downloading very fast and it has now slowed down drastically and nobody has been able to upload from me successfully. Am using a Dell with windows XP and windows firewall is disabled. Using surfboard 5100 modem but just got it and have never had high speed before. On a speed test site clock at over 3000 sometimes more than 4000. I am not very computer savvy just learning them and no not much about broadband. I have Shaw as internet supplier dont know if they limit or what and shows connected as LAN am in private residence in apt. building. The same thing happened with Winmx when tried it was downloading and uploading at speed of over 300KB then poof gone and no uploads at all. I got error message from Limeware and sent it then it all shut down and after slow. Have done all the options in Sticky message and even tried port 80 but nothing. Tried copy paste bug report but couldnt and is long. Is there any way get another report or check? Is the view example my computer? settings seem right when look at it. Any help would be greatly appreciated to fix this problem have quite few files to share and not freeloading but do not know why can't get to work. If anybody or even a mod has help can e-mail , PM , or reply here so I can fix this. Thanks. |

![]() Shaw have been known to filter p2p. ie: shutdown the speeds. You could call them & complain. lol ![]() Just in case it's something else, make a note of all your settings & try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire |

![]() Did you originally have your downld folder set to default? If yes then perhaps you changed it so your incompletes are a little confused. Go to menu Tools>Options>Saving & press default button & apply button. I don't know much about stats. If your computer crashes whilst LW is open, there's a great risk that the downld preferences might be corrupted. Meaning that if they were, your incompletes will probably start from 0%. Some suggestions: * Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! * After opening LW wait 10 to 20 mins before using. Let it settle down 1st. * Go to LW's prefs>Speed & tick disable Ultrapeer Cap. & press apply button. * Set both uplds & downlds to autoclear. * Close all LW windows you don't need open at that time. * If you're not in front of your comp, then hide LW in the program tray. * Reduce uplds to about 70-80% or more. Reduce downlds to 80 or 90%. * Don't use the Resume button on all incomplete files. This can have side-fx such as affect LW's connection quality. This will also stress LW & your comp. If you use Resume/Find sources then just apply it to a couple or so at one time. * It is only recommended to have one firewall active since 2 can interfere with each other. To configure them to give LW full access see: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml * Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False? If False then you have a firewall issue. * I would also recommend you use your modem as ethernet & not use the usb interface if you have an ethernet card. |
